MISSION HILL COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER FOR END OF SUMMER CELEBRATION

Youth, families, community organizers and local legislators to celebrate a successful “Sugar-Free Summer” and other recent accomplishments

WHAT:    Sociedad Latina End of Summer Celebration
WHEN:    Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009
              5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
WHERE:   Sheehy Park, Tremont Street, Roxbury

August 12, 2009—On Thursday, August 13, Sociedad Latina youth, families, staff, volunteers and supporters will come together to celebrate the season’s accomplishments and say good-bye to another summer on Mission Hill.

Field games and arts and crafts activities will be ongoing for children, while musical entertainment will be provided by Sociedad Latina Music Clubhouse Youth Leaders. More presentations will be made by youth who have been working hard this summer on the “Sugar-Free Summer” campaign and other activities.

The event will also be an opportunity for Sociedad Latina to express thanks to community allies who, through collaboration and support, play an integral role in achieving Sociedad Latina’s critical mission.

All community members are invited to attend, to share in the celebration, and learn more about the important work taking place in Mission Hill. Dinner will be provided.
