Sociedad Latina Music Clubhouse
Picture this: the first ever state-of-the-art music clubhouse serving low income families in Mission Hill! The 1400 square-foot clubhouse, replete with its own music recording and digital art studio, is open to youth ages 10 to 21 after-school, evenings, and weekends. Stop in to check things out, and you will see a thriving clubhouse filled end to end with youth pursuing any number of activities. For instance,
-
A five-piece ensemble is laying down tracks in the recording studio;
-
A group of youth is taking their weekly guitar lesson in the instrument room;
-
Still others are gathered for a workshop on beat-making and lyric writing; and
-
At the listening stations, smiling, ear-phoned youth are bopping, tapping, and lip-syncing to recordings by their favorite artists.
