Sociedad Latina shares expertise at "Investing in Young Men of Color" Congressional Briefing

Last month, Executive Director Alexandra Oliver-Davila and Program Assistant Wilmer Quinones (also an Alumni Youth Leader) testified at "Investing in Boys and Young Men of Color: The Promise and Opportunity," a briefing on the education and employment solutions that communities of color have implemented for boys ages 12-24. The event was co-sponsored by CLASP, PolicyLink, the National Council of La Raza, the Executive Alliance to Expand Opportunities for Boys & Young Men of Color and the Institute for Black Male Achievement.

Sociedad Latina was one of five organizations nationally invited to share our effective Pathways to Success youth development model that consistently achieves positive outcomes for Boston's Latino young men. Watch the highlight video below to learn more.

Wilmer also discussed his experience as a young Latino male in Boston and spoke about how he's overcome barriers to achieve his goals with the support of Sociedad Latina and his family. Watch his testimony below.
