Our Programs

Evaluation

Sociedad Latina programs are evaluated through our Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database, which allows us to analyze trends, identify program needs and more easily report successes. With ETO we have an almost exclusively electronic format for data collection and tracking (e.g., intakes, assessments, feedback, attendance). The program enables us to see what is working, and helps us make changes and better allocate resources to support efforts that are not. All staff enter data into ETO and our Evaluation Director analyzes the information. Outcomes and results are shared with our Leadership Team and Board, who make programming decisions.

At Sociedad Latina, evaluation is done on three different levels:

1. Individual level: Youth are evaluated midyear and at the end of the year by Program Coordinators. They are evaluated using the Youth Outcome Toolkit, developed in partnership with the United Way specifically for Sociedad Latina's Youth Development Model. Youth attendance and participation at internships, in Mission Possible!, at community meetings, and in workshops and trainings are also tracked in ETO and used in evaluation.

2. Program level: Programs are evaluated for effectiveness midyear and at the end of the year by youth evaluations of the program and Program Directors' monthly observations.

3. Community level: Community campaigns and initiatives are evaluated midyear and at the end of the year based on whether or not goals and objectives were achieved, and the number of youth and community members reached by activities.
