Academy of Latinos Achieving Success: Access and Success Coach

As a part of the Success Boston initiative, ALAS coaches provide college and career support to Boston Public Schools (BPS) graduates transitioning from high school to local two-year colleges in order to increase college persistence and completion rates. The ALAS Access & Success Coach supports a cohort of 70 immigrant students and English Learners through both individualized case management and cohort activities. The ALAS Access & Success coach is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the Boston Public Schools, Higher Education partners, and the Success Boston network.

Sociedad Latina AmeriCorps Massachusetts Promise Fellowship

The Massachusetts Promise Fellowship achieves this by placing AmeriCorps Fellows with schools, non-profit organizations and state/local government agencies that focus on fulfilling the needs of our youth by providing: a caring adult, a safe place, a healthy start, a marketable skill, and an opportunity to give back.The Massachusetts Promise Fellow will serve as a College Access Mentor to 15-20 high school seniors who are Boston Public School students.

Sociedad Latina is looking for a STEM Coach which will lead hands-on arts projects that encourage students to engage in scientific inquiry, design solutions to challenges, and become leaders in the community.  Projects may include engineering challenges, robotics, and app design, etc.

STEM Pathways Manager

Sociedad Latina is looking for a STEM Program manager that will oversee Sociedad Latina’s pipeline of year round STEM programming for English Learners in Boston Public Schools. This pipeline of programming begins at STEAM Team, our 21st Century Community Learning Centers, located at the James P. Timilty Middle School and the Mario Umana Academy for grades 6-8. The manager will be in charge of relationships, overseeing program design and implementation, data and accountability, and supervising 3 program coordinators.

Academy for Latinos Achieving Success Youth Summer Job

Sociedad Latina is looking for 9th and 10th grade English learner students to join our team this summer! Our summer programs provide English learners with opportunities to prepare academically for the upcoming school-year with ESL-certified teachers, practicing English, developing critical thinking and perseverance skills, and receiving early college access mentoring.

Summer Youth Leaders will receive a July monthly MBTA pass for free and end-of-summer completion bonus.

STEAM Team Youth Summer Job

Sociedad Latina is looking for 5th through 7th grade English learner students to join our team this summer! Our summer STEAM Team participants spend their summer learning and practicing English, exploring the city of Boston, and engaging in STEM activities. 

Summer STEAM Team participants receive free breakfast and lunch daily and weekly field trips across Boston!
