Viva! Summer Night
Concert Series Every Thursday
Each summer, Sociedad Latina hosts our Viva! Summer Nights, an annual event series that celebrates the diverse Latino cultures in our community through visual art, music, media arts, theatre, and dance. This event series is a neighborhood-wide affair including public art displays, musical performances, cultural showcases, and visits to our Mission Hill/Roxbury community by some of the region’s best Latino artists. Each year, more than 2,000 people from across Boston come to our neighborhood to attend these events, including youth and families, business and civic leaders, and college students.
In line with our organizational commitment to civic engagement, these events also feature youth-led community organizing and health education activities.
Our Viva! Summer Nights is a true coming together of community to celebrate, explore, and elevate the Latino cultural traditions that promote social justice and the arts that make our city so vibrant.
Every year, we provide different activities. In 2019, we are partnering with Mission Hill Neighborhood Housing Services. Our schedule is as follows (all events are at One Brigham Circle, except the Tito Puente Latin Music Series):
