Youth Artists Mastery: High school youth, ages 14-18, participate in our pathway to music mastery that also supports academic and personal growth. Intensive instruction is offered in guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and voice. Through this year-round programming, Youth Artists learn music theory, practice instrument skills, compose original songs, play in ensembles, record a full-length album, and perform across the city. Participants earn high school credit through BPS Arts Expansion Initiative.

Community Classes: Community youth, ages 8-18, receive small group music, visual arts, media production, and dance instruction in school-based, afterschool, and weekend classes. Instructors are Sociedad Latina staff, Youth Artists, and college work-study students from Berklee, Emerson, and MassArt. Additionally, Sociedad Latina hosts regular open studios for youth and community members to create art and record music on a drop-in basis. To register for weekend classes, click here.

Viva La Cultura! Arts: Sociedad Latina hosts year-round cultural events for community members to explore and celebrate diverse Latino cultural traditions, including open mic nights and ensemble performances that are free and open to the public. Annual arts and cultural events also include “Viva Nuestra Cultura” and Viva! Summer Nights at One Brigham Circle. These events are supported by partnerships with Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Berklee College of Music, and the Museum of Fine Arts.
