If you're interested in working with some of Boston's most motivated youth, consider volunteering at Sociedad Latina! We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities to support youth ages 11-21 in the areas of Education, Workforce Development, Civic Engagement and Arts & Culture, including tutoring, mentoring and leading topical workshops.

All volunteers must pass a CORI/SORI check and are required to complete an orientation that goes over policies, daily tasks and best practices. To get started, fill out the form below and one of our staff members will get back to you with details on current opportunities. Thank you!

Part Time STem Coach

Sociedad Latina is looking for a STEM Coach which will lead hands-on arts projects that encourage students to engage in scientific inquiry, design solutions to challenges, and become leaders in the community.  Projects may include engineering challenges, robotics, and app design, etc.

Steam Team Program Coordinator

Sociedad Latina is looking for a STEAM Team Program Coordinator who will work in partnership with youth and families to develop Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) programming to students in grades 6-8 in an after-school setting. The STEAM Team Program Coordinator will work with Sociedad Latina partners, middle school staff, and volunteers to implement quality academic and enrichment programming to participants.

Welcome Center Project Coordinator

Sociedad Latina is looking for a Welcome Center Project Coordinator whom will oversee a joint effort between City of Boston, The Family Resource Center, IBA- Inquilinos Boricuas En Accion, and Sociedad Latina to support families displaced after Hurricane Maria. The project coordinator will be supported by a team of family advocates, relief case managers, and non-profit staff to deliver the outlined services.

Sociedad Latina is looking for a College and Career Pathways Manager that will oversee Sociedad Latina’s pipeline of year round college & career programming for English Learners in Boston Public Schools. Sociedad Latina’s programming operates during the school day, afterschool, Saturdays & summer.

STEM Pathways Manager

Sociedad Latina is looking for a STEM Program manager that will oversee Sociedad Latina’s pipeline of year round STEM programming for English Learners in Boston Public Schools. This pipeline of programming begins at STEAM Team, our 21st Century Community Learning Centers, located at the James P. Timilty Middle School and the Mario Umana Academy for grades 6-8. The manager will be in charge of relationships, overseeing program design and implementation, data and accountability, and supervising 3 program coordinators.

School-based Instructor

Sociedad Latina is looking for a creative, organized professional with youth development and college and career readiness programming experience.

The school-based instructor will work with the Program Coordinator to plan lessons, team-building and enrichment activities, and lead classes of 15-20 students to develop the necessary skills for postsecondary success, at various high schools in Boston.

2 Teachers for Escalera (Saturdays)

Sociedad Latina is looking for an ESL-certified teacher to deliver instruction with our Escalera college and career readiness curriculum and supplement language acquisition to a cohort of up to 20 English Language Learners on Saturdays, at the Wentworth Institute of Technology.

The position is 5 hours a week, including time for planning and biweekly staff meetings.
